Drew & Mallory|Winter Sunset Engagement Session

I knew when I first met Drew & Mallory that we were going to get along great, and we do! Mallory is the Type B version of myself. In other words, we love the same things- dogs, coffee, and she almost became a teacher- but she is much more easy going than I am. When I asked her about her wedding, she was so calm and not worried about a thing. She and Drew love to laugh and that was evident in during their engagement session.

Their session was on the most perfect day in February. Normally, Alabama is cold and rainy during the winter months, and the week of their session was no different, but the day of the sky was clear and the temperatures were in the upper 60s! We started off in downtown Decatur in the late afternoon. We took some pictures in HighPoint Market because we loved the exposed brick, and then walked down the street for a little. It was getting dark faster than we wanted, but I knew the sunset was going to be beautiful and there really wasn’t a good location to capture the sunset, so we hurriedly drove across town to take sunset portraits at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge.

I am sooo glad we changed locations! The sunset was breath taking, and the images were definitely some of my favorites. We were having so much fun and getting such good images that we stayed until it was literally too dark to continue taking pictures.

It was hard to pick just a few of my favorites to share with you. Mallory & Drew, if these are any indication of how awesome your wedding pictures will be, April needs to come sooner!
