Drew & Mallory’s session was on the most perfect day in February. The day of the sky was clear and the temperatures were in the upper 60s! We started off in downtown Decatur in the late afternoon. We took some pictures in HighPoint Market because we loved the exposed brick, and then walked down the street for a little. It was getting dark faster than we wanted, so we hurriedly drove across town to take sunset portraits at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge.

As we celebrate moving from one year to the next,I can’t help but smile at the memories that were captured as well as created during these sessions. I was able to work with so many adorable couples and amazing families in 2018. I hope you enjoy looking back a some of my favorites from 2018!

I’ve known the Hunter family for about 5 years, but my husband grew up with them. When Sharon told me that the whole family was going to be in for Christmas, and they wanted some pictures on their property, I was super excited. We had a small window when everyone was going to be together, […]

Believe it or not, you may not be the only one nervous about your photo session. Photographers get nervous too. I’m not going to lie; I was nervous about meeting Brooklyn and Grant for their sweetheart session in downtown Decatur. Brooklyn was the winner of my birthday giveaway back this summer, but I had never met […]

Johnny & Whitney’s wedding in Somerville, was absolutely gorgeous! Their portraits and reception were at the Historic Somerville courthouse, the oldest standing courthouse in Alabama, and it provided a beautiful backdrop for their big day.  The two of them are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. Almost all of the speeches at […]

Now that Whitney & Johnny are married (YAY!!!), I can finally share some of Whitney’s bridal portraits! It has been killing me not to share these. Whitney made an absolutely stunning bride, and when I saw her at her session I couldn’t wait for John to see her at their wedding. Her portraits were taken at her home, […]

I don’t have as many favorite things to share with you this month as I had originally hoped.  Between graduation, puppies (see below) and about a week of being super sick, the month really got away from me. One favorite thing not mentioned is my new camera, but since I said that this series wouldn’t […]

On May 5th, I earned my Master’s of Education in Teaching and Learning from Bob Jones University. I couldn’t have been more excited to finish my degree and be able to attend graduation. While my degree took just under 2 years to finish, sometimes it seemed much longer. For the first time in my life, […]

Hey everyone, this is the first post of my new series about my current favorites. Basically, I’m just going to share things that I currently like. It will probably end up being a bunch of random thoughts, but maybe you’ll find something that you like too. So without further ado, here are my April favorites. […]

The Nevins family has spent the last 12 years celebrating Easter at Turtle Point Country Club in Florence, Alabama. I was super excited when they requested to hold their session there. I just love it when locations have special meanings for my clients. We had an absolutely beautiful day for pictures, and I loved that […]
